Objetivos del Proyecto

OBJETIVOS ORIGINALES

Instalar FADs para el uso de pescadores en Puerto Rico.

Crear conciencia sobre la instalación de los FADs el uso adecuado de éstos.

Evaluar la utilidad de los FADs a través de reportes y entrevistas a pescadores y un estudio dirigido a determinar:

1. Qué especies son atraídas a los FADs
2. La abundancia de peces alrededor de los FADs
3. El tiempo que los peces permanecen alrededor de los FADs
4. La captura por unidad de esfuerzo en y fuera de los FADs

ORIGINAL OBJECTIVES

To install FADs that could be used by anglers in Puerto Rico.

To create awareness on the deployment of the FADs and their adequate use, through
outreach material, around the island.

Evaluate the use or service provided by the FADs by determining:
1.  The species being attracted to the FAD
2.  The abundance of fishes around the FAD
3.  The length of time that fish remain around the FAD
4. Assess the catch per unit effort at and away from the FADs
